I grew up and went to school in Parua Bay, and then attended Whangarei Girls’ High School, before heading off to Otago University to study medicine. In my 5th year of medical training, I lived in Dannevirke and worked at the Medical Centre there as part of the Rural Medical Immersion Programme. It was during that year that I decided I wanted to specialise as a General Practitioner. I graduated from Otago University in 2011 and moved back home to work at Whangarei Hospital as a House Officer before entering the GP training scheme. I received my Fellowship for the Royal NZ College of GPs in January 2017.
I live here with my husband and two young energetic sons. We love spending time outdoors – walking, swimming, biking. It has been a privilege moving home and working in the community that has helped shape who I am today.
